Mage Ansalon Rules!

Mages specialize in the casting of spells, offensive ones in particular. Mages have the highest-powered magic of any class, and are the only classes able to use the draconian and enchanting spell groups. They are also very skilled at the use of magical items, though their combat skills are the weakest of any class.

All mages begin with skill in the dagger. Any other weapon skills must be purchased, at a very high rate.

Cleric Ansalon Rules!

Elmore Rocks!! - A clericClerics are the most defensively orientated of all the classes. Most of their spells focus on healing or defending the faithful, with their few combat spells being far less powerful than those of mages. However, clerics are the best class by far at healing magics, and they posess an impressive area of protective magics, as well as fair combat prowess.

All clerics begin with skill in the mace. Other weapon or shield skills must be purchased, many at a very dear cost.

Thief Ansalon Rules!

Thieves are a good class, those who think otherwise have never perfected playing the class. They do a few things better than any other class, but have the widest range of skills available. Thieves are specialists at thievery and covert actions, being capable of entering areas undetected where more powerful adventurers would fear to tread. They are better fighters than clerics, but lack the wide weapon selection of warriors. Their backstab is dreaded by any who fall under their knives.

All thieves begin with the dagger combat skill, and are learned in steal as well. Any other weapon skills must be purchased, unless the default selection is chosen.

A good source of information for roleplay of thieves speech is "The Lexicon of Thieves Cant" compiled by Shaun Hately. (Used here under complience with fair use and copyright terms stated within..)

Monk Ansalon Rules!

Monks practice a rigorous lifestyle of mental and physical training and discipline. As such, they are experts in unarmed combat, and do increasing amounts of damage as they go up in level. They also shun armor as it does not allow the necessary movement; however, they have a natural defensive ability that increases over time and makes up for not wearing armor.

Monks begin with skill in hand-to-hand combat, kicking, a second attack, and dodging.

Warrior Ansalon Rules!

Warriors live for combat and the thrill of battle. They are the best fighters of all the classes, but lack the subtle skills of thieves and the magical talents of mages and priests. Warriors are best for those who don't mind taking the direct approach, even when another method might be called for.

Warriors begin with skill in the sword, and gain a second attack in combat. Other weapon skills may be purchased cheaply, or gained in the default skill.

Paladin Ansalon Rules!

Paladins are highly specialized warriors. They have many of the skills that pure warriors do, but they are also gifted by their God with certain powers. Chief among these is the ability to heal themselves or their comrades. Paladins may be considered a cross between a Warrior and a Cleric.

Paladins begin with the skill in the sword, and gain fast healing as a default skill. Other weapon skills may be purchased fairly cheaply.

Ranger Ansalon Rules!

Rangers are warriors, to a certain extent. They coexist with nature, and because of this, they have certain skills that allow them to move undetected through the natural world. However, they have a hard time blending in inside citys and man-made structures. Rangers may be considered part Warrior, part Thief, and part Mage.

Rangers begin with the skill in the sword, and gain second attack as well as the track skill as a default. Other weapon skills may be purchased.

Templar Ansalon Rules!

Templars are clerics who have devoted their lives to a more forcefull enforcement of their chosen diety's ways. The have many of the spells that a Cleric does, but they also are skillful in many combat skills. Templars may be considered as a mix of cleric and warrior.

Templars begin with the mace skill, as well as rudimentary healing spells. Other weapon skills may be acquired, but at a high price.

Battlemage Ansalon Rules!

A Battlemage is one of the few spellcasters who disregards the more scholarly pursuits of the arcane, and instead devotes him or herself to the purely combative aspects of magic. Often, BattleMages are employed by large armies not only to throw nasty spells at the opponents, but to enhance the abilities of their own troops.

BattleMages begin with dagger, just as normal Mages do, but they have the option of learning other weapons, as well as some combat skills.
